Clayton County Conservation will host a field day at the Becker East Wildlife Area. This beautiful, primitive site overlooking the Turkey River near Millville has been the site of a two-year project converting a retired pasture to native prairie with the help of the USFWS partners program.

About the Event

Clayton County Conservation will host a field day at the Becker East Wildlife Area. This beautiful, primitive site overlooking the Turkey River near Millville has been the site of a two-year project converting a retired pasture to native prairie with the help of the USFWS partners program. The program will offer insights and discussions about the site’s past, present, and future, the Fish & Wildlife Service’s efforts to restore the endangered Rusty Patch Bumblebee, and the conversion process. Participants should come prepared for roughly two-mile hike.

Size is limited, so please register for the event at . We will meet at Bootlegger’s restaurant and shuttle over to the site. For more information, call 245-1516. Participants are encouraged to wear masks and practice social distancing while attending. The Osborne Center is located on Highway 13, five miles south of Elkader.www.claytoncountyconservation.org
