Osborne Nature Center

National Moth Week this year goes from July 20th-28th when moths are most active. Join seasonal naturalist Nick Schaefers to round out the week with a night of “sky fishing” for moths and other nocturnal insects!

Sky fishing involves shining a bright light onto a sheet which attracts many nocturnal insects. During this event, we hope to find over a hundred different species of insects, or more depending on luck.

Participants are welcome to stop by the nature center any time from 8:30 to 11:00 pm and may stay as long or short as they wish.

For information on this and other upcoming events visit our website at www.claytoncountyconservation.org or call 563-245-1516.  Osborne Nature Center is located on HWY 13 five miles south of Elkader. The center is open 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday-Saturday, and Sunday Noon-4:00pm.
