About the Event

National Trails Day is an annual celebration, held on the first Saturday in June, inviting people to celebrate their local hometown trails with a pledge to leave them better than they found them.

The Becker West Wildlife Area exemplifies this ideal like nowhere else, where neighboring landowners volunteered their time last summer to reclaim an old 1.5 mile lane through the prairies and woods to improve the public’s access to this beautiful site.

Come and join the Clayton County Conservation Board on Saturday, June 4th, at 2:00 PM to enjoy a walk in the woods to explore the trail, the multitude of restoration projects underway at the site, and learn more about how you can get involved to help your community with nothing but a little elbow grease and some free time.

The Becker West Wildlife Area is located at 36061 Millville Road, Colesburg, IA. The parking lot is roughly 1 mile west of Millville, 7 miles south of Guttenberg. For questions, contact Clayton County Conservation at 563-245-1516
